The Other Islands Book Fair is an annual event hosted by the Pratt Graduate Communication Design department and serves as a vital platform for local publishers, community builders, designers, artists, and creatives who share a collective commitment to independent publishing to come together and showcase their work.
This identity for the 2026 edition of the book fair reflects the power of collaborative forces and the community-oriented spirit of the book fair. Other Islands are not defined by established, canonical models. Instead, they are formed through continual movements: convergence, divergence, and the shifting dynamics within the community. Each interaction leaves behind a new island and new waves that vibrate within and among each other.
Created in collaboration with Yura Kang and Khánh Lê for the design open call put forth by the Pratt Graduate Communication Design Department.
